My in -law is looking to buy new and can't decide between the 2500 or 3500 4 by4 single reer wheel. What is the difference between the two? Thx Boyd Loud and Obnoxious 06-29-2005, 12:26 AM Most likely just heavier duty rear springs and beefier rearend. nickleinonen 06-29-2005, 05:22 AM overload rear springs is the difference, and a higher weight rating... with the cummins, practiacly all came with the 11.5 rear end [only the SO automatics had the 10.5" rear] cab clearence lights were also standard on 3500's up to 05.. 06 that is now an option.. if he is looking at an 05 model year one, the only difference will be the rear overload springs and cab clearence lamps [and of course, the higher weight rating] bamabo 06-29-2005, 03:15 PM 3500 brake rotors be bigger than a 2500's too!
