I have a decision to make and I need help. Looking at Discounttire.com and have narrowed down to Goodyear Duratrac's. What size do you guys recommend?

315/70/17 load range D with 17x9's
315/75/16 load range E with 16x8 or 16x10

I don't tow anything except the snowmobile or 4-wheeler, but I have heard about people having trouble with the Duratracs feeling too squishy. I figured that E's might stiffen the ride up, but then I would be getting 16's and not 17's. 18's are a little too spendy for me.

I like the look of 35's and 17's, just wondering if people have issues balancing or wandering with 16's.

I wouldn't buy from Discount though. JMHO, after dealing with them alot, and having known somebody that works there and him telling me stuff that goes on behind the scenes. I am getting new tires from them anyway, but just because I have the warranty.

Dirt on what goes on behind the scenes? I will just say that the guy I know (was a friend briefly) said that he is surprised that there aren't as many accidents or injuries due to the stuff they do. Thats why I double check everything they do. I would have lost 2 of my center caps last time if I hadn't checked.

Well, reguardless, any insights on the tire size questions?

Yeah, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Just stated my opinion.

No problems with my 17's. I've been super happy with them in all aspects, looks, size, ride, traction.

Just called discount tire, all they have in 16's is 4.25 backspacing. The cognito 7-9 says 4.5-5 is recommended. Is a 1/4" going to matter that much?

seems like we're about the only company who does things right. if something is happening like you stated, then people are not being trained correctly and that needs to be changed.

I can tell you that we take everything seriously when it comes to safety. 760+ stores and thousands and thousands of employees, we try to weed out the bad ones quickly.

to the OP, I highly doubt the 1/4" will make a difference, but you might want to call Cognito and see if that will interfere with their parts/install clearances.
