Hello Everyone, I'm new here and have been reading over old posts about towing mirrors and more confused than ever. I just sold my '98 GMC K2500 which I had a nasty looking set of CIPA mirrors and picked up an '07 GMC K2500HD Classic with sport mirrors and need some help with replacing these with towing mirrors. I'd like to buy a set of New Style towing mirrors to fit my Classic and have been looking at Kool Vues and OEMs. The OEMs are power and I'd like to stick with all manual. Kool Vue's website does not show a set of New style manual mirrors for my Classic but a lot of the aftermarket websites say that the Kool Vue part numbers CV39L & CV39R will fit the Classic. Can anyone tell me if this is infact true before I go out on a limb and buy them. Looks to me that the mounting plate has a more rounded profile in the front than the sharper profile of the Classic's door. Do I need to modify the new style mirrors to fit the classic's door? If anyone has part numbers of what and where they have bought would be helpful!

You want their GM73 series. Anytime (and I mean ANYTIME) that you shop for parts and accesories for an '07 Classic, search under 2006, as there are no differences in an '06 and an '07 classic (but '07 model year can be either body style, resulting in incorrect parts).

And, NO, the 39 series will NOT fit (without excess modification).

Thanks loads for the advice! I once owned a 1988 Silverado with a Nov 1987 build date and spent the next 4 years trying to find parts. Some parts were for the new body '88 and other parts were left over old body '87. It was a true nightmare. I love my GM cars but that was one I was glad to see go!

BTW has anyone purchased anything from www.monsterautoparts.com? So far they are the only ones I've been able to find 2006 mirrors that are all manual. They are temp. out of stock but.....
