: Whats wrong with my suspension?

Well in the past 10 months I have managed to crack 2 rims. I've had this fabtech kit on for about 150k and still going strong. Both times its been the front rims. First one was driver side, second was passenger and each time it was a pot hole doing about 35-40mph each time.

I'm running 315/75/16 (35s) Toyo MTs on 16" Procomp 1069 rims which makes it 9.5" of side wall. Tires were properly inflated both time when I cracked a rim.

Sick and tired of cracking rims and Procomp will not warranty them anymore since I powder coated them so I am looking at picking up a set of 20s on 35s for a new look. Just wondering if something with my suspension could be messed up enough to cause this.

Let hear your thoughts.

Your right foot

No really, I don't see it being your suspension. I haven't heard of those wheels cracking on alot of people so I really can't tell you what it is.

its got nothing to do with your suspension unless there is no suspension travel, meaning there would be no absorbtion of the pothole. Other than that its just crappy rims (no offense)

i had a 06 lexus gs300 on 22's with 30 series tires and went through a few rims before I became aware of potholes and other things in the road.

I would say to check that out.

I have about a 1/4" of room between the bump stop and lower arm like most do. Truck rides great other then the 2 busted rims. Both rims cracked in a similar location to. Attached is a pic of the crack, a little over an inch long.

I guess I will just have to wait till Nick hooks me up with my set of 20s sometime in the future ;)
