Great forum with alot of useful info. Hopefully, some of you can help me. A few weeks ago, my ABS light came on while driving. Now, every time I reach 3 or 4 mph, the light comes on and stays on. I tried cleaning the front wheel speed sensors and mounts, as well as, adding a fresh coat of dielectric grease. No change. Also no codes.
Anyone have any ideas? Is there any way to test the wheel speed sensors with a multimeter? It figures, I'm 2 months out of warranty!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
BTW, This is a 2002 GMC CC D/A 4x4.

First, have you changed tires to a larger size or any change for that matter? If not, then, I know you said you are 2 months out of warranty, but I would take it in to the dealer quickly and see if they won't handle it for you. Sometimes if you're just a tad out they will fix it. If that doesn't work, try to find someone with a scanner to see what codes you are throwing when the light comes on this will save a ton of time diagnosing the problem (usually). Don't forget you have an electronic brake control module (EBCM) that may be acting up also. These were notorious for giving the 1500 truck owners headaches...I know, my brother has one. Good Luck.

JP,
Thanks for the reply. First, I changed to H2 wheels and tires 2 years ago and have had no problem before now. Second, I scanned it with an actron and found no codes. That's why I was wondering if there was a way to test the sensors myself. I have to go to the dealer about a paint problem anyway, so I'll question them on it. I was just hoping to come up with a fix I can take care of in the event they deny warranty coverage. I guess I'll just have to put the stock wheels back on and take the drive.
Thanks again for your reply.

When my ABS light was acting like yours it didn't throw any codes either. My front right bearings went out, causing the wheel to wobble and damaging the wheel speed sensor. Take it in soon, it could save you.
