Is there much of a difference on the labor side of rebuilding the allison with a Suncoast kit compared to rebuilding it with all stock components? The reason I ask is because there is a local shop that has rebuilt allison's with stock components such as clutches ect. but never a Suncoast kit. They specialize in transmissions and transfer cases. I'm thinking about having them do my Suncoast kit and was just wondering if the kit will be similar to fixing it with stock parts other than the Suncoast quality being better.

In my experience with handling thousands of tech calls; be carefull. Most trans shops are intimidated by the Allison and when they see an upgrade kit, they don't understand what we are trying to do. These shops will leave some of the parts out because they feel they are not needed. Good luck.

Since they have already been into Allison transmissions I would just ask them as it's really not much difference than building a stock unit. Were just changing a few extra parts that they are already taking out during the rebuild. Labot wise I would expecet no more than 1/2 - 1 hour extra time in it.
