Hello All-

I currently have an 04, (see sig) and have zero problems with it, but the wife wants to get something new. I have started looking, and could get a new F350 King Ranch for at least 12K off the sticker. They also said that they would give me 20K for mine for trade.

I'm really a die hard Chevy guy, but the wife doesn't like the NBS, not to mention that they aren't going to give much more that 8K off the sticker. I knew that the new 08's had problems, but have they worked most of them out from what y'all have heard?

Just fishing around...

What types of problems did the 08's have?

The 12k off the F350 is for a about to be retired 6.4l international power stroke. New 2011 Ford diesel is going to be a 6.7 Ford built motor.

Correct, but from what I can see the 6.6 is changing a lot as well.

The biggest problems that I have heard concerning the 6.4's is MPGs (I hear they only get 13-16), early 08's shot flames out the exhaust, and problems with intercoolers. But since the early 08's the problems haven't reoccurred, except the MPGs which I don't believe have gotten any better without a DPF delete.

Worse thing is, I have already ordered, and received my Cognito support kit and transfer case fix.

6.6 isnt a whole new motor though remember. Im sure the Ford will be fine, but I like the Duramax Allison combo.

The 08 is a LMM motor, it really has no major issues.

Well after last night, I have her talked into a GMC (really like the front end better Thant chevy). Now time to call around and see if I can get as close of a deal as I did with Ford. If not I'm keeping my truck.

I think when 08 problems are mentioned the op is mentioning Ford diesel (navistar)problems. None of those issues occured with the gm 6.6.
