Does anyone recommend the thick, textured, or flexible nitrile gloves? I use the regular black nitrile glove at work and they are somewhat decent and was wondering if the thicker or textured gloves would last longer.

I would like to have these for the garage. Having laytex gloves work well for messy jobs such as fluid and filtration changes.

I found these but wanted another opinion:

The Diamond Grip glove is tough and reliable, yet is also exceptionally comfortable. The powder free, textured examination glove provides an exceptional balance of performance, comfort and durability. - Controlled manufacturing process for greater product consistency - Fingertip textured for enhanced wet and dry gripping - Longer and thicker than typical exam gloves for added protection - Premium, low-modulus natural rubber latex for a true fit and reduced hand fatigue - Powder free

Medium Black latex exam gloves from PhantomTM. Powder-free, non-sterile, with a textured surface.

Micro Flex MK296-L MidnightT Black Large Powder Free Nitrile Examination Gloves (MFXMK296-L) Category: Medical Nitrile Gloves

For general purpose use we use the Kimberly Clark Clean guard in the 5 mil thickness. They hold up well to paint and solvent and in the case of BBP clean-up I just double up on them. I prefer them to be powder free.

Thanks for the link as well as the quick responses. The Kimberly clark is almost twice the cost. If it is twice as durable I may go that route. Has anyone else tried the black nitrile?

Never used the black. I can say the company cut costs by ordering a thinner "BEST" brand and all they did was split out constantly. Since me and my guys are the first responders in the company we vetoed that brand quick, fast and in a hurry.
Grainger is expensive. Try MSC. http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/GSDRVSM?PACACHE=000000131732879

The best for shop use I have found are the Thickster gloves at Napa. Some of the guys even reuse them because they last so long. They are great for chemicals too because it takes a lot longer to eat through them

I buy the light blue ones at Harbor Freight for like $4.00 a box. I think there's 50 of them in there? They work surprisingly well.

^^X2, at that price it is no big deal changing them often.

it's good to see they have them locally. I will check napa and harbor freight when I get home. I did not think they had them at harbor freight or I would not have posted this...

I get both the single ply and double ply nitrile gloves from HF for use at home- on sale they are cheap. For the price changing more often is ok at home. At work we get the name brand gloves because they are more durable.

I use the thicker latex ones from Autozone. They might be the Diamond grip ones-haven't checked the box lately. IIRC they are about twelve bucks a box. They hold up a lot better than the thin blue nitrile rubber gloves.
