Own 2005 Chevy LS Duramax. Has approx 3000 miles so far. In the 95-100 degree days here in Texas the AC is not cooling very quickly. What is happening after turn on AC button with blower motor in maybe 3rd or 4th setting, the system automatically goes into recirc mode even when button has not been turned on/illuminated. This recirc thing will happen after about 2 minutes with truck at idle. Can here compressor kicking on and off too quick also. Compressor runs for about 18 seconds and shuts down for 9 seconds and process starts over on and off again like this. After idling with hot air blowing from vents and start driving down the road AC then starts to cool down.
- Is the auto recirc thing described above normal with a truck not equipped with auto air like the LT model?
- Is the AC cooling as described above normal?

The Auto Recirculation mode is normal. The hot air coming from the vent is not. Better take it in to the dealer while the weather is hot. Easier to explain symtoms in actual hot conditions.
