My C4500 runs really hot if I'm pulling a heavy load over any major or minor mountain pass. I've hear that these truck just run really hot to begin with, is this true and if so is there a quick fix?

Can't say mine gets too hot climbing hills in the summer time. It will get up to 230 on the 100+ days in az towing heavy up hill. Hayden makes a super heavy duty fan clutch for our trucks #2886 it should work better than stock!!

Check the flow of air over the coolers in front of the radiator. Dirt, dust, and bugs can lead to a heat problem. I run Banks on my 4500, I have to fuel down on hot days when pulling. The egt's create to much heat and thus heat the engine up. Hope this helps

Can you fill out your sig so we know what you have and have done??

Depending on your year, some of them get hot. There have been some mods out there like fans. Even some people turned their fans backwards?? Mine hasn't gotten hot but it has gotten around 230 and I just slowed down. I do know for a fact that some people that have changed coolant didn't put the right stuff back in. If I remember right the GM stuff is purple....

Good luck...
