I just bought an 02 and the guy left his xm radio in it. When he subscribes to it in his new truck will mine stop working? Also, I hear a static sound in my normal radio and I was wondering if that was cause by the XM radio? Should I just have it taken out?

'02s don't have XM capability.
03-up do.
Sorry,

I didn't say it was stock. He had installed an xm radio.
I think he means he has an aftermarket system "left in" the truck from the previous owner. It prob. operates w/ an FM modulator at 88.7 or so. Does the static occur with xm aftermarket system on while you are on different stations. If so, turn off xm and it should cure it while you listen to other stations. Or, you might have a blown speaker. You can put in a CD. If it has static, you have a blown speaker. You can find the blown speaker by adjusting the balance for front to back and left to right. When you hear static, that is your bad speaker. You might even have several bad ones....just a FYI.

I don't seem to hear it when the xm is on but I can hear it when the xm is off the the radio is on. I thought it might be a blown speaker also. It is getting detailed right now so I will check it out more tomorrow. I am not overy impressed by xm but I was going to keep it in while it was free.
XM isn't bad. My wife loves it, I don't care one way or another. I listen to whatever she tells me to!!
