well i got one glow plug out and the rest are siezed pretty tight. I used some penetrating fluid but to no avail, i tried alittle harder then i broke one in the block! I would like some expertise on getting them out before i send it to the dealer for removal and extraction. Over 120 bux an hour here where i live so some help would be appreciated.

GEt or go rent a set of torches,, and heat the Block next to the glow,, then douche it with PB Blaster,, then heat again,, and gently loosen them up and hopefully out. DON'T heat the block red hot, like your trying to get and exhaust bolt out or anything,, just get that bad-boy warmed up some.

Here is prob a better aproach.I've used it a few times on stubborn glowers. at least you wont burn the truck down.

break the terminal out of the plug by gripping the spade and core rod close to the hex and rock it back and forth till it breaks, remove the rubber isolation plug as well.
Then use a flat faced punch that'll fit snug in the recess of the plug body and wack the punch hard with a hammer a couple times( the shock often breaks the grip in the treads and the taper on the end),dont use the punch on the hex,(as all you get is a mushroomed hex that wont fit a socket anymore).Use a torque wrench set to max 30 lbs to loosen them as the breaking point of the plugs lies around 35 to 40. repeat the process wih punch and hammer till they budge, they will come out without breaking.
use plenty W40 or such before and in between.

That tool will only work on GP's that are not seized but have swollen tips.

I did mine with the engine warmed up and I think that helped.

On our '96 6.5TD in a motorhome I used an imact gun on a very low setting...a few raps CW and a few raps CCW...back and forth. Be patient and persistant. I broke two with a 3/8 ratchet before I tried the impact. The impact worked well. Now on to the passenger side.
Can someone explain/describe what to expect in the tubes on the two center plugs below the turbo? Do the tubes unscrew or pry off or do the plugs hold them in place?
Sorry for hijacking this post. Hope this gets out.

the tubes are held on by the exhaust manifold bolts/studs

Get some WD40 and soak them down. Be patient about it and let them soak them for a couple of days.
Get a good solid socket, a wrench would be better. Tap the wrench and spray some more WD40. Tap back and forth.
I have never met a glow plug I could never get out. Ever.
A torch is a good idea. Heat the glow plug threads. While its cooling spray some more WD40.
The key is patience. Use antisieze when installing.

If the glowplugs are swollen after the threads are broken loose then simply remove the injector. Get a green scratch pad and cut to the size of a quarter. Place into the bottom of the precombustion chamber. This prevents the glowplug element from dropping down into the hole.
With a pair of hemostats or bent needlenose pliars. Pull the glowplug out after you punch the stuck glowplug.

Here's what I did.

You can also melt wax into the threads, don't need to go red hot for that.

And for swollen tips, definitely get PMDCable's glowplug socket, it works very quickly.
