I'm new to this forum. has anyone been running or heard of anyone running biodiesel in their lb7? I am thinking of trying it out on an upcoming vacation.

Welcome, I move this to an area that should better get your answer :)

Do a search, plenty of people running it. One thing I might mention, though, is depending on the cleanliness of your fuel system and the % bio you want to run, you may want to run a tank or two before your vacation and change the fuel filter. I have said this shouldn't be an issue with our newer trucks, but I don't know if I would risk it on a long trip.

:exactly: Agree. Ran 1 tank of B100 and changed the filter. It was a good thing I wasn't on a long trip or I would have been changing it on the side of the road!

One suggestion, when you change it at home pretend that you are on the side of the highway, that way when it happens you won't panic and will already know what tools you should take with you. Also, don't forget the extra filter! ):h

Where are you, and from whom do you plan to buy the fuel?

I've ran varying blends of the stuff in my truck since it was new. I'm usually running B20 (since it's the most conveniant to aquire) but I step up the blend when I'm near the B100 distributor in my area. I've known my distributor for about a year and a half, and have not gotten a bad batch of fuel yet. He has recently opened up a public B20 pump not far from my home (hints why I usually run B20) that's open 24-7 and usually isn't crouded at night.
www.distributiondrive.com (http://www.distributiondrive.com) is the website for my provider. He's the same guy who's partnered up with Willie Nelson for BioWillie Diesel Fuel. If you ever find yourself in the DFW area look them up!

I to this very day have not had a problem with the biodiesel in my truck. I have about 35k miles and have used the fuel for the last 31K. Love the smell, love the power, love the feeling, and love the price! (B20 was still only 2.19 three nights ago at the pump)

You'll notice your truck will smooth out quite a bit. It's actually more noticeable when you fuel up with #2 again, you'll think somethings gone wrong in the engine! All you have to do is use it once, then you'll become a fanatic about it like the rest of us.:D

I'm in So Cal and will be traveling into Utah and to Yellowstone. I found a couple of retail locations one in Midvale Ut. the other in West Yellowstone. I have not called yet to find out what blend they sell.

There are a few places in Southern CA that sell BD. Thats where Ive gotten all of mine......

I have heard of BD in yellowstone. Be prepared to pay big $$ for it. I think it is one of those park fuel stations.

I am unsure of Midvale UT. I thought the only one was in SLC.

Good luck!
