My truck has been a little tougher to handle on roads with signficant crowns lately. Put the front end in the air and the wheels have quite a bit of play left to right. I watched the linkage as I moved it and the slack seems to be where the centerlink mounts to the pitman and idler arms. Which parts need replacement?

Get Fabtech steering upgrades and add the Super Steer bell crank housing.

How many miles on your truck?
75k, about 5k with the 315s

Just replaced the pitman & idler arms on mine at 65K and only have 265 tires, with about 42K of the 65K miles on the original 245 tires. I bought a Cognito stabilizer kit from John, we'll see if that helps. Had about 4"+ toe-in/out play before replacement.

The stabilizers are only good if the pitman & idler arms are still good.
Also check the tierods.
Do the pitman and idler come off easy? Doesn't look like there is much room in there for a puller

They aren't that bad to pull.
It's easier to drop the center link, then take out the bottom 2 bolts that hold the steering box to the frame & loosen the top one. That way the box will pivot enough to use a puller with an extension & ratchet.
With the idler arm, unbolt the frame mount & seperate the mount from the idler.

Will the Fabtech idler arm and pittman match up with the other OEM steering parts on a regular 2-wheel drive '02.--Thanks Ken

Don't know on that one, check part #s on 2wd vs. 4wd to see if their the same.
You're probably better off with the support brackets.
Any trick to keeping the pitman arm aligned with the steering wheel or is it keyed or something to keep it where it should be?
