I am looking for advice for air intake for my 06lbz duramax, also does any one know what voids warranty as far as after market parts go?

Void Warranty, nope.

You will get all different opinions but my vote is for S&B

$ can be better spent on other parts. I have made over 700 hp with stock air box and intake.

stock intake is good for 550hp or so. The best intake for the LBZ is the Banks RAM AIR I think

stay stock box not worth the money....spend it some place else like everyone else said.....and depending on your dealer they will hassle you about an air box. i had a bully dog and they told me an egr code was due to my air box but i guess it depends on your dealer

Read this ~ http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117009 ~ it's a sticky in the Fuel System, Air, Exhaust, & Emissions Upgrades.
For the most part it says the stock intake is good to over 500 whp. and it is one of the best filters money can buy.
Everyone has to do their own thing. I did the PPE mod and kept the great stock filter.
And put down 466 whp.

S&B. Leave the factory airbox stock just in case you have to go back to the dealer for warranty work.

Leave the OE intake stock INCLUDING the pinwheel/centrifuge at the inlet. Donaldson did a fine job designing this intake. Mine is bone stock and wil stay that way. The only mod that I run is my ECM programming.

P.S. I'm the guy that started the OE box mods with my 2002 setup.

Stock is fine but if you go buy one I would have to S&B, I just did that and my truck seems to like it, ran stock for a long time tho
