just noticed my transfer case is leaking where the rear drive shaft goes in should this be under warranty still it is an 08 with 40k on it

Yes I would think so. Just take it in and see what they say.

What was the issue? Care to enlighten on the issue in case someone else has this same problem. Thanks and glad it was repaired.

got under my truck today and noticed it is leaking as well , mine is an 08 with 30k miles . the case has a leak on the rear driveshaft seal.

also noticed a slight leak on the rear main ( motor oil coming from the engine/trans area)

warranty here i come .

sorry about not posting the fix, it was the rear transfer case output shaft seal, where the drive shaft goes into the t case... took em 45 mins at the dealer. i also think i have a wheel bearing going in the LF but it is not loose i just have a little noise but it may be tire noise hard to tell.. woudl this be under warranty also??

that is interesting you mention that rear main leak because i also noticed it was a little damp in the area. kinda sucks to have this at 39,000 miles my 04 lly did have this prob at 115k when i got rid of it. hate to have the dealer pull the motor or trans because it always seems like something isnt right when it comes back...
