A bottle heater will allow you to run more consistant. Is it necessary? Not absolutely. Running a bigger jet with a cold bottle pushes the same amount of nitrous. Since it is a gas at low pressure, it will "atomize" whether or not you have 900PSI.

Super Diesel apparently is making/selling Duramax specific nitrous systems.

Superdiesel has good stuff. Give him a shout, he will set you up with a "kit" containing anything you want.

I'm running the diesel kit from jegs. It came with a WOT switch, but I just used the horn as the go button (thanks McRat). The price is around $500.00 for everything. Only draw back is the size of the solenoid, I haven't reached it's limit with a .61 jet though. I'm not sure how big the noid is, but if you're going to be running a much bigger jet you will need a bigger noid. Try it without a bottle first, easy to add later.

Seems pretty good for the price. It includes a WOT switch. For 30$ more they include a pro selenoid wich can jet up to .120 wich seems more than enough for the average extremer or bastard stacker. You have the choice of 5 jet sizes.

SDs kit is more "plug and play" and it include his famous manifold.

Super Diesel (Michael) is out of state for a little while, not sure if he has internet access or not. He will get back to you as soon as he can. Thanks for your patience

Thanks for your patience I would wait for SD to get back, his system is worth the wait. I guess they held the "Sheep Lovers Sleepover and Bahbaque a little early this year.:muahaha:

Michael left for IRP last thursday and will be out until ~ July 11th. If you are patient he will get back to you as soon as he can. I would be very surprised if he did not contact you long before he gets back here. He is one of the most responsive venders on this forum and he sells high quality, well designed products for duramax only.

I bought a N2O kit before he started selling his and based on what he has developed I will have to be changing several components to meet up to the performance which he put together. As far as I am aware he is the only vendor that sells N2O kits ORIGINALLY DESIGNED FOR DURAMAX performance. If I hear from him while he is out I will ask him to check this thread, I do know when he gets to Louisana he will get on and check his PMs.

I saw Michael's N2O kit and let me tell you it's complete. Very well thought out. Even when I get my set of twins I'll still run his kit.

superdeisel,
I need your advise also.
My truck is basically stock with exhaust and air filter now I'm thinking of the perfect nitrous set up.

pleas advice.

Sorry I'm not SD but N2O without added fuel is pointless IMHO. You need a trans and big programing at the minimum to think about running spray. again JMO

ace21: Just to support ratlover's opinion, here's a good technical explaination about how nitrous react in a diesel.

http://www.bankspower.com/tech_nitrousoxide.cfm

In a few words... no smoke, no spray

You have better AND safer HPs to gain by buying a box first. If you plan on adding nitrous later, go with a race box like PPE Hot Xcelerator, Quad 215 or TTS Extreme so there will be plenty of over fuel to burn later with the spray.

Remember that what you're planning to do is nowwhere near your stock tranny safe zone so if you go beyond 90 hp more than stock; do your tranny some good.

An LB7 Dmax can almost tripple it's stock power with a simple setup. 250hp stock, 500hp with a race box or stack (and liftpump) and 750hp with alot of nitrous. 750hp is considered the break point for a stock engine and at that point things could start to break.

Have fun.

I would have to agree with Ratlover on this one. On a diesel, the motor must supply the extra fuel for the Nitrous to become useable. Unfortunatly you can't just add a fuel solenoid to the nitrous system because a diesel throttles off of fuel and not air, thus adding fuel to the intake system would create a uncontrolable effect on the motor and you would most likely blow it up the first time you try it.

Another thing is that the Allison Transmission was engineered to only hold so much torque and HP, you can easily exceed it's capabilities with just a program or chip, I would also recommend doing a transmission upgrade before you add all the power. Just my .02
