I'm needing to take out the buckets in my 98 crew cab and replace with a 60/40 bench. Does anyone know if the bolt holes will line up correctly or will I have to drill holes? This is only going to be a short term exchange so if the solution doesn't look pretty, I don't care. Just need to have 6 passenger capability for a week. Thanks

I did the swap from 60/40 to buckets in my 98 a couple years ago. the 40% seat will line up with on bucket. The 60% seat will line up with the outer hole but you will have to drill holes in the trans hump to mount the inner mount.

Instead of drilling holes, could I build an adapter plate? Would this work and still be safe enough?

i suppose you could build a plate. i put buckets in my chevelle and had to add the adapter plate for the inner seat bolts. i tack welded it to the floor and have had no problems with it.
