Finnally got to pickup my "New to Me" truck... 2002 K2500 Crew... Jumped in it and drove it all the way across the country...):h Runs pretty good... Dunno much about diesels, but I'm happy so far...

The truck has 10" of lift, and 37" tires on it...:grd: Has a 5" Exhaust system, and that is it as far as the motor is concerned... Thinking about adding some more power to it... Wanted to get some thoughts on the different chips, intake, waste gate (whatever that is) ect... That everyone is using... I have heard great things about the banks, but I have also heard about people blowing them up with it... Not too interested in that (as I am sure they weren't either), but I don't plan on being "TOO" hard on it... I do plan on playing, but nothing all that serious... Don't tow anything with it, it's just for fun... I have a buddy that has the Hyper Tech on his, and he is very happy with it so I was thinking about going that route... BUT, I really like "The Best"... So I have that whole "Should I play it safe/safer or go all out..." question...

Also, not sure what it is called, but the truck has Dual Shocks Front and rear, and I want something more fnacy for the Reserviors on the front to mount them to the shock... Right now they are mounted to the hoops with some metal straps... I have see some trucks in the Mags, with Fancy holders that hold the reserviors to the shocks... What is that called, and where can I get some... Hope that's not too confusing... Here is a link to a pic that may better explain...

Anyway this looks to be a great forum can't wait to get to know everyone... Thanks in Advance...

With tires that big I would serious look into front and rear gears. Also lockers.
If you put more power to the truck with those big tires you stand a good chance of blowing gears.
I would also start with a beefed up tranny befor hand. There is alot of mass roling and it will tear things up very soon. If you don't that truck will only look nice sitting in your driveway.

Those are very vaild points... I am really not trying to tear anything up... So I might have to look into that...

If I beef up the Tranny do you think I can get away with the Banks...??

You'll be happy with the performance of the 6-Gun. Without the Speedloader, you can use levels 1-4 before a tranny upgrade, or levels 1-3 with the Speedloader. I know on mine level 4 is starting to push the tranny to it's limits already.

With that big of tires you will strees the trany more than with closer to stockers. A bit of trany work may be a deccent idea depending how much power you want to add. I believe the edge offers a bit more bang for the buck. The edge Juice/attitude combo is very popular. Its a good beginners/lower power type box(but still enough to fry a stock trans especially with big tires). If you thinking of getting stooopid with this thing and adding lotsa power there are other options out ther too. I'd leave the factory filter/airbox and wastegate. Banks is pretty proud of thier stuff IMO and you pay alot for the name. Not bad products though.....

TTS also makes nice stuff. And then ther are lotsa other programers ect that will work fine too. Do a search in the electronics section and thier sites on quadzilla, predator, bullydog and the other mentioned ones to see what options and bells and wistles you want and pick the tuner thats right for you. Any specific Q's though ask away
