What does that spring compresser cost for the C1 & C2? If i did it again I would make sure I had one. That's about the only tool I really wish I had during the install. That and a good selection of big snap ring pliers. I've never seen such a variety of snap rings in my life.

We just use a piece of all thread and a split nut. Really cheap. Bolt the all thread to the work bench, set the C1/C2 assemble over the all thread, put washer on all thread and tighten the split nut. Works like a charm.

I made my own tools as well but my biggest concern is I didn't want to damage the piston. Also the spring cage is not very strong so you need to distribute the force evently around it. I just figured it would be a lot simpler if you had the right tool for the job.
