OK, guys i am getting frustarted with this bouncing stuff. i lowered the bars some , hung 850 lbs on the front , air down the front tires and aired up the rear . it started out good then went into a bounce and the smooth again by the end it was boucing bad . i kept in it and finally stopped at 234 ft . this is 2ft better than last weekend . but the good thing was that last weekend sled was like 20,000 and last night it was 32,000. so overall i did better.

but my question is now is can i put some sort of block or air bag set up between the frame and rar so the back wont go into a bounce ? i was told by a guy that does it regularlly that this is what needs done.

can someone help me out on this . in 2 weeks there is another pull so i want to be ready for there . i dont think more pwer is the key , its getting the suspension straight first , right ? thanks

yeah sounds like you need to make yourself a set of blocks for the rear axle
make them adjustable and removable
i would put them right were the factory bump stops are

All the work you did up front is great and will definitely help your pulling - but none of it will address your bouncing problem. Clamp the leaf springs to the overloads and that should settle it down quite a bit.

if you run blocks you must have traction bars

What type of tires are you running? Mudders? I've ran on some tacky, grippy tracks with BFG All-Terrains and never had bouncing problems. Maybe blocking is the next step. Let us know how it works.

i did find out that blocking is not allowed . but an air bag system is . this is what i see on most dodges that run well around here . anyone have any thoughts?

i had the air bags i ran them 1 night and they were off the next day. my truck has never bounced like that and i know they caused it , so i would not recomend themunless you are just gonna tow trailers and stuff

my truck bounced so bad without them that the rear fender flares hit the wheels. ouch thats bad , took the paint right off the flares.

i have been keeping my eye open and alot of the truck that go good have them . i am sure there is other ways but i am going to try it . worst case i use them when towing my trailer .

i also will be installing traction bars at the same time . i will keep you guys posted on my progress with this bouncing problem .

I'd max the rears out. I run 65-70 psi in my BFG 285's

Yep. That's what I was thinking too.

I would take the rating on the tire and add about 20 psi, that's just the dot rating, and one run down the track won't hurt ya, over inflate them babies :)

Are you able to break the tires loose ?

Believe me when I say I feel your pain. I tried everything when I had my 8.1 litre. Traction bars were not the answer. I finally lowered the torsion bars as low as I could go and bingo. I also went with a less aggressive tire, and that helped. We can block our rearends, but we can't have weights on the front or in the cab, only in the bed of the truck. This last pull i didn't block my dmax and I got my ass kicked, but it didn't hop either.
