:funnypost ... from what I've been told all Chevy dealers only carry dex VI. Either change the fluid yourself or if you have a dealer do any work on the allison bring a suitable replacement fluid for them to use. I've been running Torque-Drive from AmsOil and have had good results.

there is trans guy i know tht uses it on alot of chevy diesel with the alliison and his costumers love it

Very knowledgeable folks have pointed out repeatedly in DP that DEX VI is not compatible with the Viton seals used by Allison until beginning in about '07 http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=357508&highlight=DEX Too, even some DEX III fluids may not be compatible with the seals — and there seems to be no hard data on the specific clones in this regard, either. Aside from the seal issue, DEX VI is known to gel in extremely low temperatures, destroying the convertor — IIRC, GM has done a geographic specific recall for such trucks and replaced DEX VI with Transynd and a high idle reflash.
