I need to replace the HB/crank pulley on the '93 and repair leaking oil cooling lines. Looking for reliability and life more than performance, so I guess I'm looking for cheap insurance while I'm working on the front of the motor.

Here's what I'm thinking:
1. SSD cooling upgrade kit $299 (Dmax fan, 130gpm pump, 180 thermostat)
2. Lubrication Specialists oil cooler/lines kit (about $200) Is this worthwhile?
3. HB and/or crank pulley (should I change both while I'm there anyway?)
4. Glowplugs

The radiator only has 35K miles (6 years), so I'm thinking flush. Or should I spend a couple hundred on a new one?

What would be some other "cheap insurance" that I should think about while I'm doing this? I don't tow really heavy anymore-mainly just a 35hp tractor, 21' travel trailer, and boat. I'm thinking the cooling upgrade will still be wise. I already blew a motor back in '02 after overheating at highway speed.

Pull Rad and have it boiled out at local rad shop, do the Dmax fan & clutch assem, Ho H2o pump, 2 bottles of Water Wetter in the new mix,,and AC DELCO ONLY T-stat. Lube spec oil lines for sure. Do both on #3,, and Bosch Duraterm Glows.,, button it up and drive that baby!!

I would absolutely kill for a good DIY on this. I've got to do the pulley/HB soon too. Just for insurance, no clanking yet.

You're thinking of doing most of the good stuff. and I would throw in a 4" exhaust and a new set of injectors in there too.

OK, thanks for the input! I guess I didn't think about the Water Wetter. I'll order it with the SSD upgrade kit. 10-4 on the Bosch Duratherm plugs!

Injectors look like a major expense. I haven't seen anything less than $400, am I looking in the right places? If I determine I have one or more leaking down or something I'll certainly upgrade-but until then I have to save some money for a MUCH BIGGER project on the '96.

I took my wife to prom in the '93. I've been driving it since '94 and have been all over the south in it. It's a little sentimental to me, as I'm sure you can relate. It's not going to get too many miles on it-in fact if the '96 works out for me I'm going to leave the '93 in Tennessee where I spend 8-10 weeks a year. Should be just fine when my kids are starting to get old enough to drive in 10 years. :)

Rock auto has bosch injectors for around $42 each. Look under injector nozzles instead if injectors.Or even way better than that are the delphi injectors on egay ,8 for $100. They would need to have the pop pressure reset. Most injection shops will do that for under $15 per injector. Have heard as low as $6
