Hi guys! With the GM discount, I could finally get the truck I have always wanted! A DuraMax with the Allison trans on a stripped down work truck platform. This is the first diesel I have ever owned, and I hope it is a good experience. My father has an '01 with 4" exhaust and a chip, the power that truck makes is what sold me on the diesel.

I live in Benton Harbor. I would be lying if i said i didn't have mods in mind when i bought it.:muahaha: However, i don't want to void the warranty so maybe I'll just stick to exhaust/filter for now.

I've been looking everywhere for the same body as that, the only thing is I don't need the motor and the tranny is going to be a core only. I thought I would have no problem finding one, I guess I was wrong. My next move is to try going to utility company auctions or just asking them if it is possible to buy one before they trade them in. Anyway, good luck with the new truck.

Hey, that's my truck! 'Cept mine will be the LS with a Leer. Good choice IMHO.

I got my dream truck - granted a few weeks before the employee discount pricing - but I was happy with my deal! I found a work truck, extended cab, long bed, 4X4 - without all that auto stuff. The seats are much more confortable than my '03 Silverado 2500 HD 6.0 L LS and I love all the non-power stuff - and the Duramax / Allison combo is the greatest!

I hope you enjoy yours half as much as I we enjoy ours!!!! :)
