I went to GM Parts to get some bed rail protectors for an '05 3500 long bed. I expected to see double faced tape on the rail side, but there are tabs every 2 inches that appear to snap into holes on the top of the rails.
If you've had your rail protectors off, is that the way they are attached? Was the parts guy pulling the wrong rails? I'm not drilling a 1/2" hole every few inches just to have the OEM rails.
If you know of some plain, not diamond, flexible rail protectors, I'd like to hear.

I used the GM soft bedcaps and had really good luck with them. I don't like the hard plastic ones as some of the ones I have used rubbed and wore the paint through.

n5lfh,
sounds like your parts guy might have looked up the dooley bed caps.
