I have bought a big 4 channel amp for my door speaker, a mono amp for subs, a Subthump box, two 10" subs and four new door speakers. I have installed the door speaker and amps, but the subs, box and PAC have not arrived yet.While I am waiting, I am wondering if my head unit is going to suck. I really don't want to replace it because I really like the stock look. I also like the little features like auto volume. If I got a new head unit, I know I can get a module to preserve my steering wheel controls, but could it use my existing XM?Is anyone else out there using the non-bose head unit with aftermarket amps and speakers? If so, how successfully? Does it put out a good, clean signal? Does it suck?Thanks for input.Jimbo

I have not done this , but I would have to assume that it will sound as good as the amps. and drivers you use , the head unit does not realy affect the sound as much as the amp and drivers
