I thought that both speakers on the driver side of my 02 were blown. When I turn the balance to driver side, only the tweeters work while the radio is on. When I put in a CD, all the speakers work as they should. Has anyone else run into this?

Ok, here is another twist. All speakers work on AM and CD, but not on FM. On FM, two left side woofers don't work, but tweeters do.

Substitute another 6.5" speaker in. Odds are they are blown.

If they are blown, why would they work just fine on AM and with a CD, I just got a pair of spare speakers so I might try it anyway, but blown speakers shouldn't work at all.

After trying a speaker, if it still does not work, then, most likely, the solder connections have failed on the circuit board, at the amplifier IC components. I used to make damned good money resoldering Delco and Chrysler radios, years ago. A dashboard is a horrible location, temperature change wise, for any electronics, and the amplifier gets the hottest. Therefore those particular solder connections fail first.
