: best way to track down something draning the battery?

this just started and i can figure it out. i have the hvac controls and the cluster out and wired a few things up to my reverse lights so i dont see how something is draining my battery but something is. best method?

i bet a diode has went out in one of your alternators but you can put a test light on the ground of your battery and touch it to different areas of the truck to find a short using the hot end of the tester as usual

If that fails an ammeter between the battery and terminals and pull fuses one by one till you find the draw always works.

This is the only sure way to test for shorts/leaks. You will know immediately and then the fun begins to find where in that wire it is shorted.
