Well I have 2 options for you.
1) plumb in a 3" hose into the bottom of your existing air box. I did this on my 05 LLY for $8. I went to Home Depot and got a flex tube, I think it is for a ceiling fan, looks like aluminum but not sure. There is a hole in the metal plate your air box sits on that the tube fits in. I took off the box and metal plate, marked the spot to cut out (with the metal plate on). Took the plate off, cut out the hole. Then I installed the metal plate back into the truck, ran the tube down through the plate, and ran it into the slot under the bumper where the tow hook is. Then installed the air box, with the tube sticking into it, and duck taped the crap out of it into the bottom of the air box. Now you have TRUE cold air duct into the bottom of you air box.
2) I have an 08 air box with air filter with less than 10K miles on it I can send you. PM me if your interested. I didn't put it in because I would have to re-flash the MAFS and didn't want to pay for it.

Put the LBZ turbo inlet on and call it good.

Run the intake you have a GM filter and you will be as good or better than any aftermarket intake.

LBZ turbo inlet will lower EGT's, increase mileage, faster turbo spool, and more power.

No need to swap turbos either the LLY has a large variable vein that will be just dandy.

X2 on just the mouthpiece. The lbz filter costs about $65 to replace.

If controlling EGT's is your goal, then I don't think that you will be very happy with that choice. There is only so much that you can do on the intake side. Here is my opinion:

Honestly, I would look at different tuning before any more airflow upgrades. You still have a lot of potential left that better tuning can tap into and have better control of EGT's.
