I noticed my Airdog was rumbling a bit more when I turned the key on for a few seconds and figured I was due for a filter change anyway. When I put the Airdog on, my underhood filter only had 6300 miles on it so I didn't change it then as I figured I could get more out of it anyway with the finer Airdog filter now before it. I replaced them both today, the under hood filter has a little over 15k on it and the Airdog filter has 9k on it since installed. The Airdog filter was completely black, the oem filter was black about halfway up. The Airdog sounds normal again.

A lot of people say the big rig pumps are not filtered.I know here at home at the local truck stop they are not i use to use the big rig pumps as i could fill up a lot faster until i found that out. When i was using the big pumps my filters would look like that as well.

I have a bypass filter and do the stocker every other change of the other filter. Looks like you could do the same.

That's just some metal from when I cut them open, don't have a fancy filter cutter. I hacked them open with a hack saw just to see what the media looked like.

Hey Jettech - Give Randy_The_Hack a little step by step instruction on how to open up his fuel filter. :)

Jet...I think dozer was taking about using a secondary fuel filter and as such, it is typically a higher efficiency..just like your air dog is. As such you could leave your OEM filter in and change it out every other time.
I do the same with the 3 fuel filters I use.
1 - by my PPE lift pump @ 10 mU change it every 25,000
2 - OEM/E-Bay cheapo @ 30+mU change it every 50,000
3 - FM 100 Stanadyne @ 5 mU change it every 25,000
