Need some advice. Plan to add a transfer fuel tank in the bed of my 4500 pickup. I want to install an electric fuel pump to the line out of the tank to the main tank and an extra line so I can fill the tank on my diesel generator. My question is, when the electric fuel pump is off, will it stop the fuel from draining into the main tank? Since the transfer tank is above the main tank, I need a way to stop the fuel or main tank will overfill. If it does stop the fuel, I can install a switch on the dash to control the transfer. do all the monroe trucks come standard with one fuel tank? I only have one fuel tank on mine but it came with 2 gas doors, is it possible to add another fuel tank under the frame? Seems like a big truck like these would come with bigger tanks, this is the only thing that dissapoints me so far about my new truck.

mine has two tanks....thinking of adding a big one on the bed like my f350 nothing like having 115 gallons of fuel plus the factory 30+ just not sure how i would put the system on this truck or where to even get it.

I've got a 2006 on order and I will be in the same boat as the rest of you. I will look into building something if I cannot buy it somewhere. With the cost of diesel here in CA having a few hudred gallons on board when returning from out of state sure sounds like a good idea.

i emailed transfer flow tonight i hope they can put a system togethor like in my f350 or maybee they already have one made up. Thats the best feature of my f350 is being able to go to nc and back on one tank of diesel.

running a gravity feed system plumbed into your main tank is illegal!!dont get caught at a weigh station they will make you remove it on the spot.
