I am installing a CB later this week. It is a small Midland handheld unit.

Anyway, my problem is going to be with the antenna.

I am looking for the smallest, high quality antenna available. I do not want a huge antenna swaying in the breeze. Am I able to mount on in the bed, lying down or maybe a thru-window unit that looks like a cell phone antenna. I don't like to look of traditional antennas.

What are my options?

I am mainly using this for communication/information about congested areas on interstates. Not looking to transmit long distances, maybe just a few miles.

Thanks for the help,

Ryan

Cell phone type antennas are junk. Dont waste the $20.00.
Put a magnetic Wilson Lil Wil or K30 antenna on. Both very good antenna's.
They are about 3' tall. Just the right size to take down and put behind the back seat area when not in use.

A small nice little radio is a Uniden pro510xl. Small enough to throw under the front seat when not used. Better than the Midland.

What makes the uniden a better unit than the midland?
