Hey guys, I decided to go with the bosch 300's off ebay, got them for only 280, it puts out quite a bit of smoke with the box on, but I will want bigger ones soon (suprised?) but I have a question, now that I've put them in, it seems to idle slightly rough, not all the time, more when its hot, kind of a "jumpy" idle. ALso like if im driving through a parking lot, about 10 mph, foot off the pedal, it it really jumps, not smooth at all. Whats the deal? It runs and performs fine, and has loads of power, its just the idle and coasting. I know it didnt do this b4 injectors.:confused: Help!

It sounds like you may have a bad injector, especially when you say they put out a lot of smoke. I believe those injectors are pretty mild, 60hp? What kinda K&N do you have? Is it a drop in? What about exhaust? Stock? Another thought, with all that added fuel, you may choking the engine. Did you tap the wire on the Vp44?

K&N is a filtercharger cone, VP44 tapped for comp box, stock exhaust, yes, 60HP injectors, they put out just noticable smoke with the comp off, but a fair amount when the box is on, which is normal I think, I dont think they are smoking too much for the rating, It drives perfect, just the small prob. Another thought, I have the 3 cyl. idle on, could that be a cause with the xtra fuel?

I dont know too much about it, my dad and I work at a chrysler shop and have access to DRB III, I believe it is on, during warm up when it is cold, the engine will switch to run only on 3 cylinders, Some form of warmup feature, I noticed when it was probably 15 or below up here, I would start my truck and let warm up, about 2 min after starting it, it automatically revved up to 1200 rpm, kinda nice to speed it up, but the 3 cylinder not too familar with. You could do a yahoo search and come up with an explanation, but i think that is only when cold.

Gotcha! I never heard of that before on the 2nd. My Bro has an 04.5 CTD and his has a cold/high idle feature to it, you set it with the cruise control buttons.

Idle usually will not be as smooth with bigger injectors.
