Got Boost?

I just bought an 05 LLY X-Cab and this thing doesnt have 2000 miles on it and it sounds like it has 200,000 miles inside the cab with all the wind noise!
Anyone know of a trick to remedy it? It is mainly in the back door on the passenger side and also on the drivers door.
I can push my weatherstriping in while going down the road and it will shut up for a little while...well, till the door opens.

The doors need to be adjusted. The dealer should do it under warranty.

My wife's '05 EXT cab 2500HD 6.0 had a rear door out of alignment. Took the body shop about 10 minutes to fix. I noticed it on the dealer's lot and they made the arrangements. No charge of course.

Well, I got to looking down the body line of the truck on the drivers side and the door doesn't close flush with the body so it is in dire need of adjustment!
If i didn't buy it brand new I would be worried the truck was in a bad wreck!
Dealership tomorrow.......

I had this exact thing on 2 Ext Cab 2500HD's.. all I did was adjust the latch at the top of the rear doors to be tighter when shut and adjust the latches for the front doors connecting to the rear doors as well. This worked on both trucks and I have yet to hear any more whistle or whine or any wind getting through there since.
took all of 10 minutes.

The pop out windows on the EC's sometimes don't seal too good. You can tell by pulling in on the latch while going down the road. Had to have one window replaced on my 00 gas when new. Another friend with an EC had the same problem. Real noisy.

Hey Braino, you got a process for adjusting those doors like you are talking about. I need to do mine to solve the wind noise issue.

Ok..so here's how this worked for me on two trucks so far. The way these doors seal starts at the rear doors because the front doors attach to them in order to close and lock.
what I found was that with all doors closed I could push right on the seam between them and was able to push the door in and out and feel how loose it was. I could hear it hitting each side of the hook and latch so I knew they were not aligned or tight.
So, open front and rear doors, first look at the top hook and latch and make sure they are aligned with one another and that the screws are tight..mine were loose on 2 trucks making it slip and not close very often. This may take a few times.
Once you get that done go right to the bottom of the door on the step area and unloosen the two screws there on the hook. Move this towards the cab just a hair... 1/8th of an inch maybe..again this may take a few times. make sure the rear door closes and is flush and does not rattle.
Once the rear doors are secure and do not rattle there is a hook on the rear door itself on the inside that makes the front doors close and latch. unloosen those screws and again move it slightly forward towards the cab so when it does close against the rear door it is tight and seals.
You may have to do this a few times to get it right. I adjusted too much at one point and the door would not even close so take your time.
Here are some pics... I hope this helps you guys. I have not had any wind noise, door rattle, or anything since I did this on both trucks.

:thankyou2 Thank you for the excellent tip! I did it last night to the drivers side doors, it fixed the wind noise and also the squeaking noise from the weather stripping.
