Just got home and found Fred's spacers on the counter. Wife wanted to know what the heck did I order from a Deluxe company that weighed that much. I told her don;t worry it is not a chastity belt for you! LOL

Anyway, on the problem on hand. I got 215/16's Firestone Transforce HTs on the truck now and I got a set of 235/85/16 LTX M&S sitting in the garage off another DRW I used to have. All six pretty good shape and a lot of miles left. They are about 6 years old.

The other choice is that I put on the 265/75/16s LTX M&S that are on after market rims from a 2500HD that I owned. I am thinking that I like the wider stance but I would have to buy 2 new tires to make 6! I am planning on spending a bunch of money on this truck next week at Diesel Addiction and I am thinking to run the 235 since I already have them ready to go. I have had the truck about a week and already I dropped over a grand and more next week so I am thinking let's stop the madness!

I don;t mind the Transforces on the road but they suck on construction sites that I visit and I would bet they would suck on wet grass at campgrounds too! The LTX should be better but no BFGs KOs!

What you guys think? Bigger tires or save money and run the older tires?

I think these trucks looks awsome with wider tires. Those 235s will be better than the 215s. But it's how much money you want to spend. If it was me and I had the extra cash. I'd buy the 2 tires and run the 265s then sell the 235s to pay for the 2 new tires I bought.

My problem is with the 6 years old. I would not run these tires, at least from my experience. I've had older tires like this in the past that failed quickly, mostly from dry rot. Not something I'd like to see happen on a dually, especially if it is being used to tow/haul heavy. Get some newer tires, you'll be happier/safer all around.

My 2 cents...

ok So I go to the 265/75/16 tires..
I need a tire that can give me a good ride on the highway since I do about 90% there and at the same time give me good traction off road at construction sites(in North Caroline we have this slick red clay that likes to bug down trucks). I have used the BFG AT KO at this size on the 2500HD and liked them but they are about 200plus out the door so is there something as good and long lasting for less money? I have also used the Michelin LTX MS and found it to be the best tired that I even run on a truck and SUV. Last for ever and great ride. I think the BFGs are second to that in my opinion but not so great in red clay!

SO, BFG AT KO E rated or LTX MS or something else in the 265 size?
