alright, my 6.5 has developed a clack, clack sounding noise coming from the injection pump area. pretty sure it's the pump itself.
NO other issues, engine runs great, no loss of power
noise is constant, increases in volume under load, real loud right after getting out of a hard/WOT load on engine.
90pgh Racor, Walbro lift pump before filter. no fuel/lift supply issues to speak of.
always have 3-4 psi lift pressure under full load.
always run either 2-stroke (low ash) or Power service additive.
noise started randomly. WTF is going on inside my pump?
this f-in figures....right after I get the WMi done and dialed in, cars running like a rapped ape, now THIS happens. uggh.

X2 for loose drive gear.... get the filler neck off and verify your bolts...:)
That was stock longblock in there..... maybe the chain is losing it....
WM injection dialed in eh..... tell us more...:D

Slight possibilty you cranked the (IP) leaf spring in so far that the leaf is now hitting the cam lobes in the pump.:

Hey Cody, have you had the chance to check for the IP noise yet?
Post up an update if you have the time.:)

Drive gear is tight, verified today. timing chain was new when i originally installed the engine.
the WMI well I have gone through only a quart of Boost juice on the 625 ml flow nozzles (IP issues). have it set to start flowing 6 psi, and full flow by 10 psi.
the power...first, the cost of the system was WELL worth it. this is/was my first experience with WMI. the car screams. almost unbelievable what a little washer fluid can do. love it and highly recommend to all boosted 6.2/6.5s.

Bingo, this is my fault. the pump only received (2) 1/4 turns but it is maxed out. I didn't crank it down that hard, but it really is the ONLY thing I have changed in the last 2 months in the fuel system.
fwiw, I thought a 4911 Db2 could be turned more than just 1/2 revolution before bottoming out. so it may have already been turned up some when I got it. damn, the more and more I realize I SHOULD NOT have bought a rebuilt DB2 from a local shop. should have just bought brand new.
so the $1000 question. can i just turn the pump back down and expect all noise/problems to go away? have I cause irrepairable damamge to the pump?
thanks for your help.

I am happy to say all the above issues are solved. I went ahead turned my pump back down a 1/4 (only takes me 35 min) and all noises went away.
I must have caught it quick enough not to do much damage. either way the injection pump is now on death watch.
it was very nice out today. musta been 60 deg, good enough for some shorts!:D (god I have some white ass legs lol)
drove the car and did several 40-100 mph pulls and the car feels strong. it wasnt until my trans temp started hunting for 180 that I had to quit for the day.
WMI is working flawllessly. I am simply stunned at it's performance and added power.
made a few suspension adjustments, pinion angle, panhard bar was favoring the passenger's side.
next is rolling my rear fenders, and BFH-ing my rear inner fenders.
