Brown and Brown delivered my truck ,they traded with midway and it's not black it's sport red at least I got one after the first one got snaged. no owners manuel but Midway is a Van T store so I am not surprised . runs good though so i'm happy with it .will take some getting used to the stiff ride of a 3/4 ton.

IRA51 started another thread a few days ago where he was trying to buy a Black Duramax from B & B, but they were unable to get the truck and the deal failed. It appears to be a dealer trade where the supplying dealer nevered delivered the goods. Here is the thread:

IRA51 ... Let B & B know you did not get the manual(s). I am sure B & B mgt would want you to have it, especially if it is a check item on the customer satisfaction survey that you will be receiving. They are big on getting customers to give them a 100% score. I suspect GM would also want you to have the manuals so their risk of a law suit is reduced. Manuals today are 75% warnings and cautions.

If B & B does not have a spare copy, they can order it for you (at no cost to you). The guy accepting the vehicle from Midway should have checked for this. If not, he should have made note of it so Midway would owe B & B for the item or B & B could have kept the manual that went with the vehicle they used for the trade. In otherwords, this is an issue between B & B and Midway, not you. (I share your opinion on Midway.)

Important: In addition to the large (lawyer written) main manual for all the Silverado trucks, you should also get a thin Duramax supplement manual. It is critical to have the supplement since it lists maintenance requirements and part numbers unique to the Duramax. There is also a third manual covering warranty, etc.

Is your new truck an LT or LS? If so, I believe they still come with factory floor mats, so make sure these were also included. Mats have a tendency to get "lost" in a dealer trade.

I dunno how you could spend this much money and not get what you want. I mean look, I can understand letting go of camper wiring or dvd or some other optional thing that can be easily added, but damn, the color??????

Accepting a different color is the same as taking a manual instead of an auto, an extended cab instead of a crew, a 2 wheel drive instead of a 4x4, or the 8.1 because they can't find a Dmax. These are things you are stuck with. Its your truck, but I would have held out for the color I wanted for sure.

When my dealer couldn't find the interior/exterior color combo with the options I wanted, they looked further and further out and made it happen. It took a extra 10 days, and every day they offered me a different truck with not quite the right stuff, but I held out for what I wanted.

The special financing/rebates at the time ended while they were looking for my truck, and they back dated the sale to before then so I would not lose out on that.

If the dealer really wants to they will go the extra mile to get your business. I assure you they get first shot next time if I go to buy another chevy, which is very likely not too far into the future.

As it turns out i wanted blue as my first choice and sport red as my second choice and black was third, so the color was no biggy the last 2 trucks I had were both red so now anorher red it's close enough it's not like picking a wife. the duramax book was in the glove box ,but no owners manual .I called Doug at Brown and Brown and left a message .I WILL GET A MANUAL YOU CAN BET ON THAT. So alls well and I love the D MAX power .I can't belive they put such small tires on this truck and the wheels are only 6.5 wide . when the 2007s come out I will order a blue one 3 reds in a row is enough .anyone know what the small round plastic perferated thing in the headliner above your head on the drivers side is ?

Since you took the time to mention it wasn't a certain color I got the impression that you just "settled" for whatever. As long as you are happy thats all that matters. :)

IIRC, It's for the climate control. That's where the interior temp. reading comes from.
