Well, got my truck back from it's second trip to the dealer... They say the Accumulator is the updated one and the temps are normal . Couldn't figure out which hose I was referring to that was leaking, so I will need to stop by on AM so they can put it up on the lift and I can point out the hose I am referring to.
The problem is I'm DYING to put on the MBRP straight pipe in place of the kitty, plus I'm leaving for a trip to PA next Friday night. What are the chances the tech would notice/care/say anything if I took it in for them to look at the hose with the straight pipe on?
The dealer is Lou Fusz Chevy in St Peters MO, in case anyone has any experience with them

i think i would wait till the dealer trip is done, just to be on the safe side. and besides, it only takes a little time to put the new pipe on.

I have a straight pipe on mine and never had any issues with the dealer. I have actually been asked a few times what made mine sound different and they were cool with it. I also have a Texas truck and mine did not have a kitty on it to begin with. I am not sure what the new state laws are but I think you would be ok, but you have to be the judge of that one.. Good luck

I'v always thought that a straight pipe would gain power but some one told me tonight that it actually made you lose about 15hp b/c of back pressure on the turbo, any truth to that

Why would you Want Back Pressure on the Turbo ? Lose 15hp ?

Here in Missouri, Diesels AND vehichles over 8600 (I think) GVW are exempt from emissions, so I am emissions exempt...
AFAIK, you want as little backpressure as possible behind the turbo (preferably none). With a gasser, supposedly you will loose torque if you don't have any back pressure (like no cats).

Not sure why, but ive been told the same thing to. I tried to explain to them that if something is turbocharged less backpressure would be better. He said that "a guy he knows that knows alot about diesels told him that". Mabee its something that is true for some old tractor or sumthin...I dunno:think:
