05 Silverado 2500hd duramax/allison - truck sounds good in all other rpm's and all temp reading appear normal. has done this since drove it off the lot, it takes an awsome driving/towing experience and makes it somewhat annoying.

Any one else having this problem on a 2005? or is this normal trans noise?

Thanks

There are several long threads about the 1700 rpm drone in the lly forum. I don't have any drone in mine YET.

I do hear the hydroboost worse at certain rpms than others though.

I have had the hydroboost wine for a year now. It gets loud after a 30 mile drive on the hyway.

If you can reproduce the noise at a stop (in either drive or neutral) it might be good having someone stand outside and listen to find out where the noise is coming from. I've hear this type of noise come from the engine, trans, and the exhaust. If you can pin down where you are hearing it from it will make it easier to diagnose
