I would guess 400HP and 740 ft lbs, just to clear the scorpion benchmark

I've seen the same numbers but was also guessing they might turn up the wick on it. I don't think they will turn it up more than the Ford I'm guessing it will be released at the 390/700 and have a mid year "updated software/program" or just wait until next year to turn them up.

Why do people keep saying scorpion? It's a Powerstroke.

Yes, technically they still are going to call it a Powerstroke, but since Ford went away from International the new engineering name for the diesel engine project at Ford was Scorpion.

Ford has released their stats now, on MSN autos:
Performance
What this diesel makes is a staggering, best-in-class 735 lb-ft of torque and 390 horsepower. Ford is claiming new max towing weights of 11,068 kg and a payload of 2,958 kg. I had a chance to drive F-250’s with trailers weighing around 5,000 kg and an F-450 with a 45-foot gooseneck trailer loaded down with a gross weight of 10,500 kg. Both these trucks featured the new diesel coupled to an all-new six-speed automatic transmission as well. Pulling up a six percent grade over several kilometres, the truck didn’t drop below fourth gear and easily handled the weight. On the way back down, the new integrated exhaust brake along with the engine braking of the transmission held the combinations to 40 km/h without touching the brake pedal.
I'm sure GM will do a little tweak to stay on top of the heap. Besides, we ALL know that this new Ford diesel and transmission setup will explode regularly! :D

There's a vid out about the D-max stating that the payload is 6000lbs and 20,000lb towing capacity. I'm hoping this changes after seeing the above numbers!
