I was hauling hay all day today, and noticed that the oil pressure was about 20lbs lower than normal. I came home and cleaned my dirty air filter, and decided to change the oil to be safe....

It dumped out one and a half big oil drain pans full of diesel-oil goodness..

Way more than normal. I had to put the plug back in the pan to finish draining the oil.

So I guess it is my turn to have injectors go on me,-:t this is my first problem after 100k miles. I just rolled 100k on friday night, but the injector warranty is for 200k right? Even if it isn't I can't see the dealer denying me for 500 miles over the 100k.

So my question is, I just added a 6-gun at 96k and made a couple 6 passes at the track on friday nite. Do you think either one of these caused me a problem, or was it just my turn.:(

After changing the oil I yanked all of the "stuff" off my truck, but couldn't do anything with the pyrometer probe. I thought about going and buying a cheap pyro to put in the manifold, because the banks has to run through the 6 gun to read the signal. So the pyro and lead is just coiled up behind the 2nd battery. Hopefully they don't call me on that.

We will see tomorrow morning.....:(

What you mean to say is that you where installing gauges when you decided to check the oil level and found fuel in the pan. That's why the pyro is in the manifold but the installation isn't complete......right?!!!!

I say it was probably just your turn. And yes the injector warranty is 200K.

Uhhhh.....yeah thats what I meant....

But in all honesty it scared the sh!t out of me on the hour long drive home, that the oil pressure never got over 20-25psi.

I have been paranoid ever since fri. nite when I made some passes....thinkin' damn what have I done now......

Then today this happens......if I could have kicked myself I would have.....:(

yep, its that time. When I saw the title for this post I was thinkin... "somebody got dipped and fined for using red diesel" that happened to my friend a few months ago.

I measured the amount that I drained today. 2 1/2 gallons of oil, 2 1/2 gallons of diesel.....that's a good 1:1 mix for the duramax right?

Poop Happens. I doubt the 6 gun or the passes did it. It just happened. Get the injectors changed out and you should be ok.

not sure why he got pulled over or how they "happened to check his fuel". I know he has a fuel tank in the bed so that might have something to do with it. Ill ask him 2morrow how and how much the fine was. I remember it wasn't cheep. oh yea, it was a Texas State Trooper

Curious as to what is the end of the story, what happened when you took it to the hiwaymen for warranty replacement? They say anything about those awful aftermarket add on's? I am also running Banks full load and am dreading if I have to ask for warranty......
Thanks

Brought it in this morning, and I will fill you in on the rest of the story after I get it back. Don't want to jeapordize anything at this point.

They are going to change all 8:cool:

Ok when it dumps the diesel into the crank how come the pressure goes down? because it isn't as thick as oil? But if there is 2.5 more gallons of liquid in the oil pan wouldn't that make the pressure skyrocket and blow seals?
Just wondering?

I am curious also. He must have given them permission to search, otherwise they would have needed a warrant, and that takes 'probable cause'.

Wile1, fuel dilution drops the oil viscosity. Thinner oil flows better/easier than thicker oil. Oil pressure measures resistance to flow, so thinner fuel diluted oil will register lower oil pressure.

In Texas, the cops don't need probable cause, they can do pretty much what they want...

Don't need probable cause anywhere.

Your dealing with federal and state road taxes on Diesel and your Uncle Sam dosen't like it if you try to screw him out of his cut.

Fines are steap if caught, so much per gallon. Don't know the exact number but it's into the thousands with a bigger truck tank.

If you don't let them check your tank I think it's a $10,000 flat fine.

Go take some used(3000) mile oil and mix it one to one with some diesel, then you can see what came pouring out of my oil pan. It was very thin, and it came out in a blast......

Ok I got my truck back today so it is time for the story behind it.

I took it in on Monday and told the service writer my symptoms and quizzed him about warranty to see how much he knew before I brought out my guns.;)

He basically said, there is a 50/50 chance that they will be covered under warranty.

So I asked him about TSB’s and the Special Policy Adjustment #04039, and then showed him what I had printed out, (from this site posted by GMCSID). He looked at it and said “Oh that isn’t real, it doesn’t have GM world printed on it.

WELL THAT PISSED ME OFF BAD!!!

He basically just called me a liar….

So I asked him to print off the TSB and SPA #04039 and he said, “our computers are down right now”

So I went ahead and left it there, and started calling around to other dealers, I talked to a Service Manager at another dealer, and he told me that isn’t right, with the VIN break on the SPA it should be covered no matter what.

So I went back to the dealer about 5 hours later, asked what they had found, he said “I don’t know” I then asked him again to print the TSB and SPA #04039. He said “NO I will let the tech do that”

Now I’m steaming……I was about ready to walk and take it to the other dealer I had been talking too.:cussing:

So I drive around to the shop and talk to the tech working on it. He said “It will be covered by the SPA #04039 and you also have a bad MAF sensor.

O.K. cool it will be taken care of, so I leave.

20 minutes later I get a call from the service writer, he says
“Your truck will be covered under warranty, not that SPA that you were talking about, and you will have a $100 deductible, and ~$300 for the MAF sensor.”
I said O.K. go ahead, knowing(because of this GREAT SITE) that I would not be paying that $100, the SPA says “AT NO COST TO CUSTOMER”

So about an hour later I call the Service Manager and tell him about the PRICK that had been helping me, and that I don’t like being called a liar, and don’t want to deal with him any more. He reassured me and said he would handle it from here on out, and that I would not be paying $100.

The service manager called the next day and asked If I or anybody else had ever had a power adder on here, because there is evidence of one. I said NOPE, just have the gauges….. :confuzeld

They did however put something on my harness to detect if it has been taken apart or not.:(
Now to figure out what that is so I can get my banks back on….

So basically the moral of the story is the Dealer isn’t always at fault, it is the PRICKS that work for them……;)

BTW the dealer changed my oil and oil filter, but unless they are using luberfiner filters, they didn't change the fuel filter. Should they have. If they should have I will be getting one first thing tuesday morning.....

wait so help me out on this
my truck goes in for injectors sometime next week-:t
so i dont have to pay that 100 dollar dectuctable
how does that work out
i also have another question I have the 100 thousand mile extended warranty
does that cover the drive train and the motor or just the motor
because i also have a driver side wheel/axle seal leaking and i dont think they are going to cover this
i have about 56,--- miles on my truck know
when i went to pick the truck up 2 days ago the dealer said to drive it until they could schedule a appointment
i dont think this is a good idea since its making oil

Check out the Special Policy Adjustment #04039 and check that against your VIN. If it is covered by that then it says, no cost to customer. As far as anything else I don't know....

It should be outlined in the ext.war. policy that you signed, along w/term and deductabel. If not there should be a 1-800# on it,just give them a call and ask.
