I am not to worried about getting the glows and injectors out. I will also be installing a 4" exhaust. So the turbo may be out anyways. I got the 30mm injector socket as well. What I really would like to know is how much torque for the glows and injectors? Also, would anti seize be a good idea to coat the threads with? I figure I will take all weekend to get this done. Also once everything is back together, do I just fire the truck up and let it bleed all the air out?

All the glowplugs i've ever done i've just turned them until snug with a 3/8" drive ratchet and a 10mm socket.

Injectors are 50 ft/lbs for the torque spec.

Those special glow plug tools are a rip off, Ive had no problem using a 10mm socket and ratchet to get mine out. Ive never tried to get injectors out before.

Nobody in this thread said anything about glow plug removal tool. And yes, all you need is a 10 mm deep well to get glows out. Another reason not to shop at SSD.

The injector socket comes in handy, especially when you don't want to remove the turbo to install injectors. If you take a 30mm deep well, you may have to "modify" it so you don't break of the nipples on the sides of the injectors.

Wow talk about ridiculous.

Right from the product description. "This special socket fits entirely over the glow plug hex to eliminate any chance of the socket slipping off the glow plug causing damage."

Oh really? my 10mm Deep socket fits entirely over the glowplug hex as well. Guess it's a special glowplug socket that i didn't know i had.

Making up "specialty" tools? Some of his prices re ridiculous too. :shake:

A real specialty tool would be something like a tool designed to remove swollen glowplugs. Maybe something that would fit in through the injector hole and "push" the glowplug out of the glowplug hole. That concept is a specialty tool concept.

I avoid SSD since i found Heath for my 6.5 parts.
