Short answer? 48' for all states, 53, in most states, 57 in S/W states, and then there is Alaska. However..... there are limits on center of drive axle(s) to center of trailer axle(s) distance that vary from state to state.

For the LONG ANSWER, pick up a "Trucker's Atlas" the next time you're at the T/A or Petro truck stop. One which has state by state lenght, heigth, width, and weight limits listed in the reference pages.
