like said chip and exhaust but I haven't dealt with the new truck so not sure how much it helps them. Also make sure your tires have the correct air pressure

when I am just running around in my truck I lower my pressure down to 35-40 and when I'm towing I bump it to 55-60. Also when your tires are underinflated they really start to build heat. I had a tire go down on me and by the time that I could get to the shoulder it had melted the sidewall almost completly on both sides.

Don't touch the DPF.. You (lime me) live in smog test hell... Every other year they will smog your truck. maybe either this year, or next year. Unless you are able to remove the dpf, store it, and reinstall it for the tests, leave it there.. For all we know they will change the specs on the newer trucks to read the flash history, like the dealers can, and fail you because you chipped it. for the record, flashing it at all will cause you to fail smog.

3 ways to get better mpg's,
1: air the tires to sidewall max, the ride will suffer, but the mpg's will be better then running 40 psi.
2: slow down. Run 55 and see what mpg's you can get.
3: pretend there is a raw egg between your foot and the go pedal. accelerate slower, leave the 0-60 times for the drag strip.

All of you are great for the come back! I feel it is better to listen to other and then try to do the right thing. The truck came with a B&W hitch in it. it has a cheap brake controller and want to change it out as well? Donald
