Just read the write up. Said it is a turbo charged two stroke. How does that thing ever get going? Thought the two cycle Detroits needed to be supercharged to get the air into the cylinders. Seems to me that after the first bang the engine would run out of air since the turbo is not up to speed yet.

most have electirc blowers on them to provide scavanging air until the charger can handle that... power for the blowers usually come from the powerplant/gensets many ships have on board... lots of them are large engines in the +10,000CI displacment range
