I did the Boost ,and egt/pyrometer gauges on the pillar.
During install I found that the intake had already been tapped and had a 90 elbow with a plug on it. So I removed the old fitting and installed the new 90 with the new Boost line.
So then I get to EGT gauge install and I find that the exhaust was already tapped and threaded with a plug in it, so it made the thermocoupler install alittle quicker.
Is this Normal ??? Did GM tap these from the factory? Or did someone have these gauges installed at onetime??

Not normal.

A previous owner installed gauges on your truck. Probably a good thing, as the PO probably took good care of it.

Yes previous owner had gauges installed at one time. Definitely made for a quicker gaug install! Congrats.

Wow the previous owner did a good job removing the old gauges. I bought the truck from a dealer and I've only had this truck for a couple months now. When I got it in December it had 52,000 miles on it and it looked brand new. I thought it was 100% stock. I was told it was a one owner. I'm going to try and track down the original owner to find out if they did anything eles to it.

You may not want to know the truth  , pretend you are looking to buy it and maybe he will tell you the whole story. Good luck!!

That's the trouble with buying things from a dealer that got the truck at auction. There is no way to talk to the previous owner(s) and see what has been done to the truck.

Well I called the dealer and I asked for the previous owners name and number. The sales told me he'd have to call him first to see if he was ok with me calling him. The guy was very very cool with me calling him. So I did, and man oh man I wish I'd called sooner. Come to find out the previous owner did alot more then just a few gauges:eek:. He said the first thing that he did was installed a Transgo JR Kit, along with EGR Blocker and some finger stick deal:rolleyes:. Wow I've been so ,so close to wanting to do the egr and transgo JR. He also said he had installed a 4" MBRP Turbo back exhaust and a super chip in Feburary of 09. Then in December of 09 he removed the exhaust kit and super chip and put it all back to stock before he traded it in for a Dodge. He still has the super chip and the MBRP Turbo back kit sitting in his garage for sale.
Just my luck I could have got a sweet deal on that stuff.
The crazy thing is I went with the MRBP kit about two weeks after I bought the truck. But mine are the Cool Dual. I was so pumped about the Transgo JR kit because I've been worried about running my PPE past level 2, Well not anymore, yesterday I went to Level 3 and today I bumped up to Level 4. All I have to say is WOW!!!!!!! This truck hauls FREAKIN BALLS now, I can't keep the smile of my face. I can see I will need to rotate my tires alittle more often:)
