: Found a way to stop that annoying chime! dieseldan723 06-23-2005, 06:45 PM For some strange reason I put my seatbelt on before I started the truck. The chime never did! If I put the seatbelt on after turning the key it still chimes 4 more times! Guess I will just put it on before starting! lisagrantb 07-04-2005, 01:40 PM I spend a lot of time opening and closing gates in pastures so I don't use my seatbelts much. So I started looking for a way to stop that annoying chime and found out that all you have to do at least on a 05 HD is look in the receiver part and you will see a black plastic moveable bottom, just take something and press it down until you hear it click. The clicking sound is the latch mechanism and presto it thinks the seatbelt is latched. When you get ready to use your belt just press the release button and then you can insert the belt. SchwarzBiest 07-23-2005, 12:34 AM If you dont want to unhook it for good, you can also go to a junk yard and cut the insert off of the strap of a truck, and stick it in your receiver. Assuming that these trucks are like most vehicles, they have one chime for everything, and some people like the chimes to remind them of headlights, open doors, etc. I've always pulled the dumb things on all my own vehicles, but just havnt done it to this one yet.
