2005 GMC 2500HD CC 4x4
Just scored a set of Foose Spank on Ebay, 17"x8.5" (Same as H2). $525 to my door! :ro)

Want to put 285/70/17s on them. These are shown at 33" tall.
How many turns will I need on the torsion bars... Or should I go green keys? Add a little trim and I am good to go.
Anyone have a pic of this size mounted handy?
Thanks!
Jay

I put those exact tires on a set of 17x8 Moto Metals last weekend. Here's a not-so-good pic:

I dunno how many turns the guys at the tire shop cranked the TB adjusting bolts, but there are a couple threads still showing, and the truck looks level to me (though not on my slanted driveway) even though the front measures just over an inch lower than the back. I think it actually rides a little better than before, but they are all different I gather. You can see in this pic where the shop trimmed the lower corner of the air dam. What you cannot see is the inner fender liner that I had to take about 3 inches off of in the front on the driver's side. Passenger side cleared fine. It looks like I will have to cut about an inch off the bottom of the fender liner at the back of the driver's wheel well just to be safe - it looks like it will hit if I am in reverse and compress the suspension on that side.
Your speedo will indicate 60 mph when you are actually doing almost 65, and this throws off your ODO/DTE/MPG readings as well. I am gonna have the dealer reflash my computer to the factory 265 tire combination to get everything closer. When I get it broke in good (have't hit 600 miles yet), I'll get a Predator and change the tire sizes to what they actually are. Sure - that's the only reason I'll be getting a Predator (back me up if my wife asks)!
Hope this helps!

Thanx fellas! I had to search the inventory of every dealer in Utah to find a red one. Now I'm on the hunt for door handles and fender flares painted the same red - I'll post pics when I finally get it all one color.
Motojay - I think these tires are just the right size. Let us know how they work out for you, and post a pic when you get 'em mounted on those Foose wheels!
