:confused:Im getting close to purchasing a cummins. Ive always wanted one, and now im finally able to afford one. My question is, would i be crazy for buying a dually if i dont need one? As in, i dont ever pull anything or use as a farm truck. Im an electrician, so it would be used as my everyday truck. I would appreciate to hear someone's opinion.

this is a duramax forum...what replies did you expect.

i have owned a cummins and im driving a duramax because it is a superior truck. as i am always saying...dodge is a shipping crate for cummins. the cummins is a million mile motor in a 50K mile truck. i couldnt even drive my cummins cause it was always in the shop. my duramax has been pretty much flawless.

also, why in the hell would you buy a dually to daily drive?

X2, but i also agree that the Cummins is a great engine in a not so good truck. Driving a dually everyday for you IMO would be a waste of tires and be a pain to manuever. I too am an Electrician and i have no use for a dually, the only exception would be a 1 ton van/utilitybox combo. But even then i would buy a Sprinter 1st.

F-it! I'd buy a dually. Matter-of-fact, someday I'm going to buy a dually, lift it to the sky and run the same Michelin XDN2 super singes I run on my Pete just because i want to (I don't ever pull a trailer). Might not be "practical", but it's your $$$ and you can't take it with ya!

I pull trailers alot so a dually would be good for me but I just don't like them. I just put airbags on my 2500hd. So I would get a srw for sure to be a daily driver. Especially if a woman will be driving it. I have seen alot of cracked fenders and been told yeah the wife/gf hit this or that with it.

I wish I would have drove a new dually when I bought my truck. I would have been driving home the dually! My dads LBZ dually rides way better empty than mine does.

I will never own anything but a dually.

I just like the look of Duallys, so I bought one. Almost all vehicle purchases are emotional, so buy what you want if you can afford it.

I have a Cummins/Dodge and Dmax/Chevy, they are both good trucks...again buy what you want.
