I can't get my heater to recirculate the cabin air. Every time I push the button it flashes three times. What is wrong?

It has to be above freezing outside to be able to use recirc. IIRC.

what vent setting do you have it on? (like head/feet/defrost/both)

I think it only works with ac on

I tried it on a bunch of different settings, maybe not ac though.

The recirculate for me will not work if vent is set to feet only. If any other like deforst or front vent or combination the recirculate will function with or without AC on. And it was 20 degrees the other day doing that. I normally would not run long since it can start to fog up the windsheild after a period of time. Just do it to maybe heat the cab faster so it does not have to heat in coming outside air and the cabin air in normal mode.

Hmmm. Something strange is going in here. Mine doesn't work at all.

This is way out there but a thought. Do you have elevated idle?
I seen threads that mention in colder areas that the elevated idle is disabled. So that is tuning in the BCM but do not know if they modify anything else.

Ok just wanted to eliminate the one change I heard of in cold climate. You got me. I guess one would have the service dept reprogram the HVAC module. That probably be a charge unless they do a diagnostic and if there is a warranty.

Mines doing the same thing. My thoughts are it's too cold outside. I'll test more when it gets over 30 degrees in a month or so.
